The Best of Write 1 Sub 1 Anthology

Fiscal cliff? The real news is that we're putting together a Best of Write 1 Sub 1 anthology!

The Details

You must have participated in the Write 1 Sub 1 Program in 2011 and/or 2012. The story or poem must have been reported on a weekly or monthly check-in, and been formally published (NOT merely on a personal blog, etc).

The Editorial Board will accept stories and poems based on the quality of the work as well as how well it fits within the collection, which is open to both genre and literary/mainstream works. We will strive to include as many W1S1 participants as possible in the space available.

There is no word count limitation.

Payment will be a pro-rata share of royalties. (We anticipate releasing trade paperback and e-book version simultaneously).

In  the Cover Letter, please include your name and the approximate date you reported this publication in a Write 1 Sub 1 check-in, along with any salient details we should know about the piece. Also note whether you currently hold reprint rights (Publication is planned  for June 1, 2013), or will need to request a waiver from the publisher of your story. We do NOT need a list of credits or bio at this time.

To Submit a story or poem for consideration, click on that Submissions logo in the right column (thanks Milo, for the most excellent design). Please send your very best work. You may submit more than one piece for consideration, but please do not bombard us with everything you have published. Select the pieces you are most proud of having written.

And thanks for being a part of our wonderful community of writers. I'd like to think that Ray would be proud of what has taken root here. I certainly am.

Oh, yeah, in other breaking news... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. Very exciting. Thanks guys!

  2. I can't wait to be a part of this! So exciting. Thanks Steve for heading this one up. :)

  3. Oooh, sounds good. I'd better have a look and see what I have that qualifies.

  4. Guess this will be my first submission for 2013. ;)

  5. Awesome news! But now I feel goofy for never doing any of the check-ins last year. I sold two W1/S1 stories, but never touched base over here. *facepalm*

  6. What if you don't currently hold rights to a story, but you will in March?

    Looking forward to this!

    1. You'll be fine, since we won't publish until June.
