Bradbury Bytes

New to the W1S1 Wednesday line up - Bradbury Bytes! We can all use a good dose of inspiration and motivation now and then, and who better to keep us on track than our "leader" - Ray Bradbury. And there's no better week to start than this one because it was on Monday, August 22, 1920 that Ray Bradbury was born, changing literature forever.

YOU MUST STAY DRUNK ON WRITING
SO REALITY CANNOT DESTROY YOU.
(Ray Bradbury)

We deal with reality every day - from small things, like cleaning the house and doing laundry to larger things, like working a day job or struggling with financial problems. We live it, we live in it. But that doesn't mean reality gets to win. It doesn't get to take our creativity or our dreams or our imagination. It doesn't get to...unless we let it.

  1. Happy belated birthday, Ray! And a great quote. You're right: we're the ones in charge when it comes to reality's effect on us.

  2. Happy birthday, Ray--we're celebrating by reading Fahrenheit 451 in my 11th grade English classes.

Hmm, wonder what our writing legacies will be when we're 91... :)

  7. Happy birthday, Ray! This is a favorite writing quote of mine. Paired with a cat picture, it's perfection.

  8. You lucky to have such a ghost like that haunting you into this philosophy all through the days and frightful nights.
