Write1Sub1 Week #21 Check In

The end of Week #21 is upon us!

How's it been for you? Have the words flowed like Dandelion Wine, or has Something Wicked gotten in the way? Here's your chance to tell everybody about it.

If you've managed to write a story and submit a story, shout it from the rooftops. Yahoo! If you've had something accepted/published, tell us so we can add you and the market to the Write1Sub1 Hall Of Fame. But if stuff has gotten in the way of the writing and all your replies have been rejections, let us know that too so we can commiserate! We're all in this together.

Successes and failures, triumphs and disasters, brilliant ideas and insane dreams: we want to read all about them!

  2. Goodness Simon 'Pretty good' looks like a gross understatement!
    I had two previously-written pieces accepted, by Pigeon Bike ('Rook') and Language>Place Carnival #6 ('Curve of early learning'); one piece written to submit later to Carnival #7 ('Essence') and wrote 5000 words for 'Bridie 5' - slow this week since the heroine was stuck under a tree & I could get her out...

  3. Nicely done, Simon + Sandra.

    As for me, this week's W1S1: "Tomorrow's Dawn" to Clarkesworld + some tweet-tales and haiku.

    W1S1 Acceptances: 1 haiku to Three Line Poetry and 3 scifaiku to Microcosms (both paying markets, which is pretty darn cool).

    Keep up the great work, everybody!

  4. Alas, I am still a story behind and not likely to finish it and submit in time. But I'm still chugging along and catching up.

    I was checking out the list of publications Write 1 Sub 1 stories have been accepted by and I noticed one of mine isn't on there. I had a story accepted by Breathless Press back around Week #18 (my number 6 overall). And I already mentioned my second SNM Horror Mag acceptance in the Week #20 Check In post (which would be my number 7).

    I'm sure everyone here understands my obsession with these numbers, right? >bashful grin< Here's hoping we all add to them in leaps and bounds!

  5. Slowly trying to catch up, here.

    Got a fair amount written this week, but nothing finished and nothing subbed.

    No rejections yet either, but tomorrow is a new day. :)

  6. Wow! Congratulations, Simon, Sandra, & Milo on the acceptances!!! That's awesome! And to Sparklecat & A.G., way to hang in there!

    As for me, the late arrival, this is my first week trying the W1S1 challenge, and so far so good:

    Written:
    ========
    - "Nightmare at Ground Level" (Horror/Humor, 2,300 words)

    Submitted:
    ==========
    - "Nightmare at Ground Level" to Kaleidotrope
    - (4) 50-word Stories ("A Trashy Story," "A Nightmare Realized," "Can't Get a Taxi," and "Discarded Emotions") to a 50-word Story contest at GeekingOutAbout.com

    It may take a while before I get to add my name to the Wall of Fame with an acceptance, but at least I got the Writin' and Submittin' done for this week. >Small-Victory!<

  10. Nothing written or subbed last week, but one of my previously accepted twitter stories was published by Trapeze on Saturday.

    Still aiming to get back to the weekly schedule in June :)

  11. @Simon - keep this up and you're going to need your own hall of fame.

    @Sandra - Nice work on all fronts.

    @Milo - Very nice. Even more compact that flash. I am envious.

    @Sparklecat - Very odd. I've updated these two now. My apologies.

    @A.G. - We're pulling for you. That's a good attitude you've got there.

    @Chris - You're off to a flying start. Way to go.

    @Andrew - That's the way a miler manages. One more step.

    @MattJ - Encouraging. Full steam ahead.

    @svanfow - Very nice. Shoot for a new personal best this week :-)

    @A.S. - Reminds me I need to check in at trapeze. Jessica does such a nice job there.

    Sequel to Aeropex 1.5K

    I just started The Witcher Forest clocking in at 1K

  14. Checking in a bit late, well very late-- just back from holiday. But put me down for another acceptance -- a poem to Enchanted Conversation.
